US Mens’ Basketball Team Easily Handles Canada

The US senior men’s basketball team beat the team from Canada 113-63 Saturday at the FIBA Americas Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Denver Nuggets foward Carmelo Anthony paced the U.S. with 25 points with Milwaukee Bucks’ Michael Redd adding 19 in their final first-round game at the Olympic qualifying tournament.

The Americans went on a 17-0 run in the second period and outscored the Canadians 51-25 in the frame.

The U.S. has won every game at this tournament by at least 50 points.

Olu Famutimi scored 17 points for Canada and Levon Kendall added 10 points and a game-best nine rebounds.

The U.S. will wrap up Pool B action on Sunday where it will face a Brazil team, led by Phoenix Suns guard Leandro Barbosa.
